Who Is Television's Sexiest Man?

May 1st 2008 22:20
Josh Holloway
Four weeks of US television (and my own 15 year old) have for some god-forsaken reason opened my eyes to the fact that 'apparently' there are a cavalcade of good looking men frequenting our plasma's, LCD's and widescreens these days - that until now I've been blind to.

Sure - I'd heard of Patrick Dempsey (but by reputation only) but other than Tom Selleck and 'The Hoff' - my education in respect to sexed-up television demi-gods extended to probably Kevin Sorbo or the smooth guy from The Love Boat.

So - it was with a mix of atonishment and learning that I was given a 101 in who's who in the 'sexy stakes' recently by both Mrs Nice Guy and No.1 daughter.

Apparently Josh Holloway (sorry it's just a name to me) is pretty damned hot as is David Boreanaz from Bones.

Patrick Dempsey
It's also been casually mentioned that Adam Brody, Jesse McCartney and Scott Patterson from Gilmore Girls are too shoddy either.

It was even whispered that Hugh Laurie from House had something going for him as did James Denton and Mark Harmon - as if I really needed to know!

So - educate me ladies (and gentlemen) - who are TV's sexiest men?

. . . and I thought The Fonz was cool . . .

Hugh Laurie is up there though the show is going down hill.

Tom Long will always be a favourite - he's in a show on the ABC at the moment too.

Pat Dempsey, Josh Holloway and David B. are definitely up there. But there's also T.J. Thyne from Bones, Eric Dane from Grey's Anatomy, Ian Somerhalder from the first season of Lost, and David James Elliott from the now defunct JAG and Close to Home.

I don't watch a great deal of TV anymore because of the abundance of terrible shows out there. TV seems to be mainly reality shows now but I would have to say I agree with a number of the choices above and would also add in:

* Sendhil Ramamurthy - Suresh in Heroes...and don't get me started on his delicious voice even if the accent is faked.
* Henry Ian Cusick - Desmond on Lost
* Eamonn Walker - Kareem Said in Oz
* Gary Dourdan - Warwick Brown on CSI
* Gale Harold - Brian Kinney on Queer as Folk
* Rob Lowe - Sam Seaborn on West Wing
* Archie Kao - Archie Johnson in CSI

They are all sexy for their looks. There are others who are sexy because of their wit, charm and smarts.

What is it with Hugh Laurie?

He didn't seem to attract too much attention in 101 Dalmations or as Stuart LIttle's father - perhaps I should start to go unshaven, limp and act holier than thou

Hey Mis

Not up on Scott - but you're a pretty reasonable judge - so I'll take your word on this one.

Stay well.

Rob Lowe - of course. From his early Breakfast Club days through to now - the perennial pretty boy. Along with Brad Pitt - he gives all 40-somethings hope.

Cheers

i love Dr House, Hugh Laurie is one of those beautiful brits that speaks entirely through sarcastic facial expressions

i quite like the little guy who plays Jeremy Darling in Dirty Sexy Money (Seth Gabel) as hes a bit of a no-hoper but he has a fairly simple outlook on life, is mellow, and has cool fashion sense

and i also liked that John Stamos made a comeback on ER, i think hes looking more handsome as he gets older

Oh boy. Rating the same sex. I guess I will pick those fellows I wish I were. Sounds like a spell. Only TV, right?

1) Steve Carell
3) Stephen Colbert
4) Michael C. Hall
5) Hulk Hogan
6) Hugh Laurie

I suggest you'd best share the couch with Mrs NG - there appears to be alot in common between you both.

Only one man can fit that description, only one man can walk the walk, play that role to perfection, and drips in charisma and that man is:
Your text goes hereYour text goes hereAlex O'Loughlin, who played Mick St John on Moonlight which was viewed on CBS (Grrrrr) until it was cancelled without just cause since Moonlight was a People's Choice Award's winner of Best New Drama as voted by 10 Million fans...

We miss you, Alex & miss your Moonlight character, Mick St John, casting his charisma over us weekly on our TVs... BTW Alex is a native Australian who is quite easy on all our eyes.....

Hi I would have to agree with Tish Alex O'Loughlin is the only one who fits that discribtion. He is not only good looking but he is also an excellent actor best I've seen in a long time.

I have to agree with my good friend Tish. Alex O'Loughlin has more sex appeal in his little finger than any of the other guys who were lucky enough to not get cancelled, but not lucky enough to have his sex appeal. 8 million or so fans agree

Have I stumbled on the Alex O'Loughlin fan club?

Not a fanclub, but a very strong Moonlight Sisterhood who adores the lead of that cancelled show, Alex O'Loughlin... This man oozes with talent, looks, and makes every female swoon at the sight of him... He is not just the sexiest man on TV, which I might add he was also voted same by TV Guide , but is an exceptionally versed actor, too... He drips in charisma as well...

Mr Nice Guy, I am certain you are truly nice, but no other man on TV or on the big screen can match the sexy Mr. O'Loughlin, whom is a native son of your own Australia...

And we are all, over 8 million strong fans, are continuing to work to bring Moonlight back on TV again for it was treated badly by its former network even though it won the PCA Best New Drama award... Please help us spread the word out there to write to all TPTB in networks, Warner Bros, et all, to let them know they need to give us all worldwide back the Moonlight & Alex weekly...

Now, or ever?

For now I'd say Jon Stewart (The Daily Show)

for ever I'd say Alex Trebec (Jeopardy)

Yeah, I know I'm weird.....

Another notch for Hugh Laurie (I'm not sure its sex appeal, because I dont know I could live with him .. but its his mind i guess (the true sexual organ?) which sparks enough to make me switch the TV on at all .. and thats a big event for me - switching the TV on, I mean.)
