Great Band Names
February 5th 2008 00:55
You know the feeling – you’re sitting with friends and during the course of conversation, someone has said something that you think would make a great band name?
OK – so the Fifty-Seven Flavours of St. Peter or Pancakes That Bounce or Synthetic Sheep Bladders may not necessarily be names you’ll see too soon on billboards or hoardings around the world – but you get the picture.
Generationally speaking we’ve gone through a few genre’s – including animals (The Monkees, Cheeta, The Eagles, Def Leopard etc), insects (The Beatles, Spiderbait, Buddy Holly and Crickets, The Cockroaches . . . . ) and on it goes.
But what of the weird and wonderful?
Is there a band out there just looking for the right moniker – and are you the one who’s come up with it?
Over to you!

If you want to make a million from it - go for it - just remember who you got it from.

our genre?
Electro/techno/punk/screamo, unusual mix I know
but hey
well here's what we have so far
polaroid insomniacs [my idea]
broken carnival [again mine]
moshing snails [>_< the guitarist's idea]
Lucid Sweer Disaster -LSD- [my idea
Several Teenage Defects -STD- [My friend's idea]
now I like the last one however the majority aren't so keen on the unfortunate initials =/ as it really means "sexually transmitted disease" for those who are unawares,
please, opinions on these names and which you think is best would help alot
