Wikileaks - Evil or Just Embarrassing?
December 16th 2010 22:22
Wikileaks - it's all over the news along with its founder Julian Assange - yet in spite of the criticism from the press, it continues to remain a source of copy in what is traditionally a slow news time of the year.
Whilst many of the documents are classified as “confidential” and many as “secret” apparently none are in the “top secret” category and what has been aired to date seems to be merely “embarrassing” rather than highly revealing or seriously damaging.
So why is Assange and the Wilkileaks legacy being slammed so widely - or is it?
Is it purely political? Are international leaders and their spin doctors behind the damning of the site?
Is it a case of the public finally being a fly on the walls of what has been previously the closed doors of so called diplomacy?
Some claim that this event will having a chilling effect on dialogue between nations - others view this as an important insight into secretive government.
But what says you?
