17 Again Anyone?
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
At seventeen I learned the truth
Perhaps not all of us relate - but the majority of us have been there . . . 17 that is!
What does 17 mean to you?
For mine it's the advent of PacMan and the invasion of Afghanistan by the Russians and the release of Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back.
It was getting my drivers licence and the decline of disco. It was big hair, big shoulder pads and Olivia Newton John doing the "Physical" thang.
It was Cabbage Patch kids, legwarmers and Pop Rocks.
It was Cold Chisel, the Radiators and the Angels.
It was Tracker Board Shorts, Golden Breed and Lightning Bolt T's and a Datsun 180B.
